Our next spotlight is a defensive menace by the name of Olivia Nelson-Ododa. A 6-4 senior that resides in Georgia, and attends Winder-Barrow High School. Olivia might be a sweet Southern Belle off the court, but on the court she is a ferocious talent.
Her incredibly long wingspan combined with freakish leaping abilities allows her to be a diverse post player. She is guaranteed to give you easy layups, put back shots, rebounds on both ends of the floor, solid rim protection, as well as a few blocks every single night.
Recognizing Olivia’s talent, and UConn’s desperate need for a dominant post player, Geno Auriemma aggressively recruited the number 5 ranked prospect. After visiting the campus and meeting with Geno, Olivia was sold. The idea of creating a powerhouse duo with the number 1 ranked Christyn William’s was just simply too good for Olivia to walk away from, and in November, she officially committed to be a UConn Husky. The next chapter is an exciting one for Olivia, but for now she is a focused on participating in the highly coveted McDonald’s All American Game where roster spots don’t come easy. One thing’s for sure however, Olivia has earned hers.
